THE EP is now available for pre-order!
My first 5 track EP VISTAS is good to go! Over the moon and far away…the most proud moment of my life! I so hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did putting it together. Very grateful to everyone that made it happen especially Robin and Darren at Clapton Waller Records.
Well the Kitty is extremely excited to announce that the Ruby & The Revelators performance as part of the Festival Of Chichester is also going to be our EP launch party, so make sure SUNDAY 6th JULY is in your diaries as it’s going to be one helluva party hosted by The Chichester Inn!! I am thrilled to bits to be working in partnership with local indie record label Clapton Waller Records based in East Witterings, run by Robin Clapton, who will be instrumental in making this happen for me. As a friend said to me recently I’ve come a long way since singing Me & Bobby Mcgee in the back of his taxi!! Yes and the journey continues 🙂 and I for one cannot wait to see what the future holds and hope you’ll continue to support the Tigers endeavours 😀 xxxxx

For someone that just five years ago was only singing on the sofa with my friend Derek Scott (that liked a drunken jam!) I can’t believe that I’m now working towards recording a series of songs as an EP, that I sincerely hope people will take to their hearts, and will enjoy sharing with friends and family. As with many up and coming artists it’s all being done on a shoe string, and under the steam of incredible friends and gifted musicians, that are happy to give of their time and skills freely, along with oodles of enthusiasm and….the odd drop of wine! King Rollo – step forward; he is spending a helluva lot of time doing the recordings, mixing and even the mastering (as well as putting up with me) oh and co writing, arranging and and just generally being the goodest of eggs ever!
Being dogged and determined doesn’t cost a thing and that I have been told I have in spades! The talent? I’ll let you be the judge, just having the opportunity to put a product in a fans hand will be such a thrill for me…I hope and pray you like it…We may put out a demo of just two tracks together first, download only, and use that as a way of mounting a ‘kick starter campaign’ to raise some of the funds to do the EP properly…well, we’ll see!! See you at a gig soon! love and light, from your Ruby *purrr* x x x ps If you need to contact me for bookings, tea leaf readings and sage like words of wisdomic idiocy then you can do it here. Or you can use it to join my monthly NEWSLETTER so you get al the griff delivered straight to your inbox! Easy peasy! x
It was a fantastic night for mine and King Rollo’s FUSION BLUES SHOW on 30th June at The Chichester Inn with a high attendance and big smiles all round. I was pleased as punch to have the opportunity to share the joy of great classic and contemporary blues songs with you, as well as singing two of my original compositions – Payin My Dues and Shattered not Broken – both really well received which meant a lot 🙂 Along side me making it so much fun and bringing real quality to proceedings: King Rollo (the rhythm King!) Nik Evans making some beautiful sounds on lap steel, telecaster and mandolin, and last but not least Jeff Evans on the Cajon box that goes bomperty booperty bam! Here’s some pics of the community in blues! xxx p.s next date for this show is: WemsFest – Sunday 22nd September – Westbourne Club, River Street, Westbourne, Hants. PO10 8TG. Tickets £10 from here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/225635.
It’s great performing at a pub you love and even better when you get to chat to the audience. I was given a rosy glow (not just from the dying embers of the open fire behind us) but from the glowing praise I was pleasantly surprised to receive!
One lady asked me ‘do you know how good you are?’ I was stumped! And felt humbled. It’s a difficult question as I’m only as good as my last song and how those that listen to it judge it to be…that glow turned into a glimmer though thanks to this very lovely stranger. This leads me to music PR – a thorny issue that gets me in a lather as to how much is enough and who and where! I placed a listing in The Chicheser Observer and added a cute ear catching description; and hey presto it worked! Two new fans who are going to keep in touch via this blog. Oh and the inked local rag!
Two other audience members simply googled my name scrawled on the pub chalk board – ta dah! Blog doing its job beautifully. So the lesson; do it all across all platforms, ink, chalk and pixels, but most of all do it well. Nice to know the extra effort is actually worth it. See you next time, for more heart bartering 🙂
